Quarterfinal action at the South Dakota state high school softball tournaments kicked off on Thursday, with 12 games at sites in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls.
The Class AA competition is taking place for the first time at Augustana's Bowden Field, while the Class A and Class B teams are on the field at the Players Complex in Aberdeen.
