Oasis Edinburgh Murrayfield show to feature in reunion tour movie produced by Peaky Blinders creator
Oasis will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Slade, Elvis and Abba by having a behind-the-scenes movie of their antics on the road during their live tour reunion this summer.
A film is to be made of Oasis playing at Murrayfield Stadium this summer by Peaky Blinders visionary Steven Knight.
The boys will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Slade, Elvis and Abba by having a behind-the-scenes movie of their antics on the road.
The BAFTA and Oscar nominated-writer, producer and director who is best known for the British TV drama starring Cillian Murphy as well as movies such as Ferrari and The Girl in the Spiders Web, will shoot the reunion tour including the Scottish dates.
As the summer’s eagerly anticipated Oasis Live ‘25 shows approach, Oasis have now confirmed that the new film is being made in conjunction with the tour.
Knight is also renowned as the writer of David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises’ Stephen Frears’ Dirty Pretty Things and for producing, directing and writing Locke starring Tom Hardy.
His many recent projects have included creating and writing the series This Town for the BBC on the rise of ska and two-tone in 1970’s Coventry and Birmingham, and writing the script for Maria, the Oscar nominated film about Maria Callas starring Angelina Jolie and A Thousand Blows on Disney+ starring Stephen Graham.
The new film will be directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace.
The duo have a track record of creating highly innovative music films, with credits including the LCD Soundsystem concert film Shut Up And Play The Hits and Meet Me In The Bathroom, about the documentary early 2000s NYC music scene.
Magna, the studio involved, has worked on Beastie Boys Story, Gangs Of London, 20000 Days On Earth and Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now.
No release date has yet been set, and no further details regarding the content of the film have been released as yet but reports say it will be a mix of behind the scenes footage as well as live performances from Oasis on the various dates around the UK and Ireland.
Their only European shows in 2025, the shows will feature special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast.

Oasis kick off their UK and Ireland tour in Cardiff on July 4, before playing in Manchester and London.

An insider said: “You’ve had Abba, the movie, Slade in Flame and now it’s time for Oasis, the movie. The Gallagher brothers are bound to be in top form in front of the camera.”
