Al Masry vice-president Ragab Abdelkader is believed to have confirmed that world football's governing body has punished the Egyptian club over unpaid wages to former player Ramy Bedoui.
The Tunisian centre-back joined the Egyptian Premier League side in 2021, but did not play a single game due to reported registration issues before terminating his contract six months later.
In 2022, the 20-time Tunisia international signed for Club Africain in his home country and later filed an official complaint to FIFA, in which he claimed to have been owed money by the north African club.
It now appears Al Masry could be preparing for a three-window transfer ban unless they pay Bedoui $560 000 (R10.3 million), as per Egyptian-based publication KingFut.
Speaking about the case, Abdelkader said the issue was not resolved by Al Masry's board members.
"We have received a letter from FIFA confirming a transfer ban for three periods due to Ramy Bedoui's case which wasn't handled by former board members," he claimed, according to Youm7.
